Somatic Sessions

Periphery’s somatic sessions offer a one-on-one, relational space to slow down, listen, and reconnect with the body.

Sessions are grounded in sensory awareness, gentle touch or contact (when appropriate), subtle movement, rest, and attention. They are paced collaboratively and responsive to the nervous system, supporting regulation without forcing insight, emotional processing, or outcome.

Sessions may support:

  • nervous system regulation

  • attention and focus

  • sensory integration

  • creative reconnection

  • times of transition, stress, or overwhelm

This work is non-clinical and non-diagnostic. There is no expectation to perform, explain, or “work on” anything. Nature and environment are considered part of the field, whether sessions take place indoors or outdoors.

About the work

  • My somatic approach is informed by Somatic Intuitive Healing (SIH), a gentle, presence-based modality that works with the nervous system through awareness, touch, and relational attunement.

Rather than directing the body or pushing toward emotional content, SIH supports the conditions for safety, settling, and reorganization at the body’s own pace. Sessions may include quiet presence, grounding contact, simple movement, orientation to the senses, or moments of stillness, always guided by consent and choice.

The primary intention of this work is to help clients experience what regulation, presence, and safety feel like in real time, so those qualities can become more familiar and accessible in daily life.

These lineages shape how sessions are paced, how consent is prioritized, and how attention is brought to nervous system safety and relational presence. Periphery sessions are held with care, ethical clarity, and respect for individual capacity

  • My work is grounded in interdisciplinary training across somatic practice, ethics, creative facilitation, and counseling education.

I completed a 300-hour professional training through the Somatic Intuitive Healing Institute, which included:

    • 50 supervised practicum sessions

    • 25 hours of ethics training

    • extensive study of nervous system regulation, presence, consent, and co-regulation

I also hold a Reiki certification and maintain a decades-long Shamatha and Vipashyana meditation practice, restorative yoga, and embodied movement practice, which inform how I work with pacing, rest, and subtle awareness in sessions.

My relational and facilitation skills are shaped by an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts with a focus on social and relational practice from Goddard College, where I studied collaboration, non-hierarchical process, and community-based work.

I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Prescott College, a program grounded in social justice, environmental awareness, and experiential learning. While Periphery sessions are non-clinical and non-diagnostic, this education informs my ethical boundaries, attention to safety, and respect for scope of practice.

I have also completed LGBTQ2SIA+ Affirming Counseling Training through the William & Mary Counselor Education Program, which supports my commitment to working in affirming, consent-based ways with LGBTQ2SIA+ clients.

In addition to this care-based work, I bring over a decade of experience as a creative leader in digital media, with a focus on ADA-compliant, human-centered, and sustainable design for both large and small organizations. This background shapes how I design sessions and experiences that are accessible, intentional, and responsive to diverse needs.

  • Sessions are:

    • consent-based and collaborative

    • paced according to nervous system capacity

    • grounded in presence rather than technique

    • attentive to co-regulation and relational safety

This work emphasizes being with rather than fixing, interpreting, or diagnosing.

  • Somatic sessions are held with attention to individual pacing, sensory needs, and choice. This work welcomes diverse bodies, identities, and neurotypes and is shaped by consent, collaboration, and responsiveness.

Sessions are held in ways that affirm LGBTQ2SIA+ bodies and lived experience. Sensory adaptations, movement options, communication preferences, and opt-outs are always welcome.

If there’s anything that would support your access or comfort, you’re invited to share. Accessibility is an ongoing, shared conversation.

    • 1-hour session: $120

    • 2-hour session: $200

Each month, I offer two free sessions for individuals experiencing financial hardship. Those who identify as LGBTQ2SIA+ are especially encouraged to reach out.

To inquire about sliding access sessions, please mention this in the form below.

  • Sessions are offered by appointment only.

All offerings begin with a brief introductory phone call to ensure this is the right fit, for you and for the work.

If you’re curious about working together, please reach out to inquire.
