Watch and See

  • Wilshire Park 4116 Northeast 33rd Avenue Portland, OR, 97212 United States (map)

This workshop is designed to help you discover the wonders of your eyes and enhance your visual awareness and connection with the world around you. We’ll explore the mighty strengths of the iris, cornea, pupil, sclera, conjunctiva, and optic nerve. The first fifteen minutes of the workshop is dedicated to eye dancing, which includes blinking, moving the eyes from left to right, round and round, and up and down. For the remainder of the workshop, participants will find an object to focus on - this could be a twig, gum wrapper, petal, soda pop can, blade of grass, pebble, the bottom of a rubber shoe, or anything else. There will be a brief discussion about what was seen, so please bring along a pen and notebook to capture your ocular discoveries.

This workshop is free
